These are the different types of provinces in the game, the province type determines all of it's attributes:
- Base gold and crystal income: The final income of the province is further modified by Development Level, provincial buildings, and locations.
- Inhabitability: Some province types are uninhabitable, and cannot be conquered. Heroes can only pass through them or explore them for new locations.
- Race: Non-human races may inhabit only certain types of provinces.
- Movement Cost: Heroes use mobility points to pass through provinces.
- Resources: Each type of province can support different resources. A province cannot have more than one resource.
- Guards: Some guard may only be placed in certain province types.
